01 May Quality Engineer
Our client is seeking a Quality Engineer to work with the operations team to continuously improve performance by driving and facilitating problem solving, implementing and maintaining effective process controls, promoting risk mitigation, and developing quality assurance plans while ensuring consistent application of the quality standard, ISO9001. This position, along with the Quality Manager, will work in collaboration with operations and customer service to ensure that a quality product is delivered to customers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Designs, implements and maintains methods for process control, process improvement, quality testing and product inspection; recommends changes and works to implement changes.
Develops, implements and provides training on standard operating procedures involving quality control.
Monitors production methods to ensure consistency with engineering documentation.
Provides engineering support to Operations and Customer Service to ensure fulfillment of customer requirements.
Travels to and interfaces with customers to investigate and resolve complaints; responds quickly and accurately to problem identification/resolution inquiries.
Serves as WCM Quality Pillar Member to drive continuous quality improvement; leads major projects as assigned; develops and reviews project documentation; uses WCM tools to increase controls and lower quality costs.
Validates successful root cause analysis, and corrective action plans.
Coordinates and introduces new and modified quality processes; continuously audits quality systems for deficiency identification and to assess compliance to standards and to the internal quality system; maintains data; provides trending analysis on quality issues and performance metrics.
Reviews inspection data and prepares statistical and operational performance reports.
Actively participates in testing, justification of acceptance limits, and sampling plans to assure compliance with requirements.
Performs vendor audits and qualifications; provides direction on implementing incoming material inspection plans; applies sound systematic problem-solving methodologies in identifying, prioritizing, communicating, and resolving vendor quality issues; provides trending analysis on vendor quality issues and performance metrics.
Assists in regulatory reporting activities.
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline and 2-5 years of hands on Quality Assurance experience,
Previous experience conducting audits,
Solid understanding of ISO 9001,
Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external customers,
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal,
Self-starter, motivated and able to motivate others,
Ability to effectively solve problems and manage projects,
Preferred certifications: ISO Lead Auditor, ASQ, Six Sigma, Green Belt, ISO internal auditor
Flexibility to travel as needed.
