Now more than ever, people are paying attention to the impact of their actions, both big and small, on future generations and on the environment. The Environmental Working Group is doing the work to help today’s citizens make informed, responsible, and healthy decisions.
Since 1993, the Environmental Working Group has been shining a spotlight on outdated legislation, harmful agricultural practices, and industry loopholes, all of which add up to pose threats to human and environmental health. Their team includes lawyers, scientists, policy experts, data professionals, and communications specialists, all dedicated to pushing industry to adopt healthier standards, educating the public, and inspiring more demand for safer, healthier products.
EWG conducts research and shares information on a number of areas, including food and water, farming and agriculture, personal care products, household and consumer products, energy, family health, and toxic chemicals. Their team also narrows their focus to help shed a light on region-specific issues, from supporting sustainable agriculture in the Midwest to working against toxic chemicals in California and much more. Alongside their industry research and activism, EWG’s experts provide regular updates for the public in the form of accessible research and consumer guides.
Ultimately, EWG is all about raising awareness of environmental issues and helping ordinary citizens find a path forward. Questions of health, safety, and sustainability can seem too big and intimidating, but organizations like EWG are focused on providing information so that all of us can be empowered to make changes in our lives and call for change on a larger scale.
“The Environmental Working Group and its in-depth research educates consumers with actionable information and inspire demand for safer products, which ultimately helps all of us,” says Megan Connor, Recruiting Coordinator & Executive Assistant at Blue Rock Search. “I am very passionate about educating others on how we can all make small sustainable changes to thrive and to create a healthier environment!”
Blue Rock is proud to highlight and support the incredible work of the Environmental Working Group!
