Giving Back

Blue Rock Gives Back

One of great rewards for the professionals on the Blue Rock Search team is having a job where we help all types of organizations. It is also a part of our corporate culture to help people whenever the opportunity arises and even small acts can make the world a better place.

The Blue Rock Give-Back program lets our employees choose a cause that is personally important. On a monthly basis, we select one of those charities and make a donation.

Blue Rock Give-Back Program

“Run entirely by donations, grants, and volunteer labor, the popover café runs a distribution program to deliver fresh soup and other pantry staples to senior residences and others who cannot make it out to the café or are dealing with food insecurity on Mount Desert Island in Maine.”

“Mission of Hope is a very important charity in the East Tennessee Region as we are fortunate to have the mountains of Appalachia in our backyard. Mission of hope provides a much-needed service of charitable assistance to the families in need in Rural Appalachia. Being born and raised in East Tennessee this is a cause I am very passionate about supporting. “

“In 2019, one of my family’s best friends relied on the Ronald McDonald House to stay near her preemie baby because the hospital they needed to be at was in a different state. Without this amazing charity, they would not have been able to afford a place to stay for 4 months while their child was in the NICU.”

“I choose this organization as it is near to my heart. There was a time when my mother and brother both stayed here as my brother underwent several surgeries as a child. I love the fact that this organization provides families with a place to stay as their going through an extremely difficult time. It takes some of the financial burden away from an already stressful situation.”

The Boys and Girls Club of Philadelphia has been assisting young people for a long time. I have been a longtime advocate for organizations that focus on giving young people a place to be safe and making them aware that there are other places besides the streets.”

“Sticking to my hometown roots, I’ve chosen Roanoke, Virginia-based LEAP (Local Environmental Agriculture Project) as the 501(c)3 non-profit to which I’d like Blue Rock to donate. As someone who passionately committed much of his twenties to regenerative farming and ranching, I support and believe in LEAP’s mission “to nurture healthy communities and resilient local food systems” through connecting the local farmers, food producers, culinary entrepreneurs and community members.”

“Americans helping Americans is driven by the mission of joining communities, building and strengthening neighbor relations, and working side by side with residents to address community-wide concerns linking resources supportive of a healthy, safe and economically vibrant standard of living. “

“The V Foundation: Established by Jim Valvano, their mission is to fund Cancer research to help find cures.  This is important to me because too many lives are lost each year to this horrible disease and it has taken people and animals close to me.  The famous speech by Mr. Valvano before he lost his battle with cancer was also very impactful and the words ‘Don’t give up, don’t ever give up.’ are ingrained in my memory.”

“I am a firm believer in the power of thought. Make-A-Wish Foundation is founded on similar principles…’A wish can be that spark that helps these children believe that anything is possible and gives them the strength to fight harder against their illnesses.’ When a child’s wish comes true, little do they know that their inspiring stories are powerful catalysts for many to finally begin living their best lives; their experience ignites the community involved and ironically, many are changed to believe that anything is possible themselves.”

“Centerstone Walk-in Clinic is a local establishment in Bradenton, FL.  It provides free counseling, rape crisis, free or low-cost counseling for adults and kids who are sex abuse victims and can designate a MH program for children/adults.  It is a place very near and dear to my heart. My daughter has worked in the mental health industry for 15 years and has spent 12 of these years at Centerstone.”

Katie explained that cancer is extremely common in her family and that she has lost numerous family members and friends to this disease. She currently has an aunt battling skin cancer.

“I have a personal passion for this organization that is proactively linking the Latino community in East TN with educational, civic, & economic opportunities in the area. Centro Hispano offers a unique focus on enabling Latinos to positively impact their communities. “

“The charity that is most important to me is Providence House. Providence House is a crisis nursery committed to child abuse prevention and family preservation in the Cleveland area.”

“Rob Machado is a professional surfer who resides in my old neighborhood in San Diego. Surfing and the ocean have been a huge part of my world and have brought the most amazing people and times into my life since childhood. Now It would be great to give back to a charity that is bringing environmental education into kids’ lives, providing clean drinking water, and encouraging reusables over single-use plastic water bottles to help keep our water and beaches clean.”

Latin for “swift cure”, VeloSano is a year-round fundraising initiative to support lifesaving cancer research at Cleveland Clinic. Since the inaugural ride in 2014, more than $24 million has been raised and 1OO% of those funds are hard at work in the fight against cancer.”
