  • Represent the brand as an informed partner that works with the franchisees to ensure that they operate their business within the standards set forth in the Franchise Agreement.
  • Facilitate the preparation of new franchise agreements and other compliance documents, addressing questions with internal and external stakeholders using templates provided by the brand.
  • Partner with cross-departmental teams in developing franchise compliance protocols, policies, and processes for franchisees in North America
  • Build and maintain tools and templates to track franchisee compliance
  • Manage internal reporting on franchise and certain other compliance concerns
  • Identify opportunities for improved processes, methods, and tools to optimize productivity and compliance
  • Update and advise management on the status of litigation, claims, and other significant legal matters
  • Develop and maintain a library of forms of commercial and technology and cyber security related legal documents, ensuring they reflect best practices and appropriate legal requirements
  • Develop and maintain personal relationships with local attorneys when needed and collaborate with general counsel as needed.
  • Complete annual and quarterly duties to maintain compliance with federal and state franchise regulations, including updates to the Franchise Disclosure Document; work with outside counsel to coordinate state registration filings, provide responses to the requests for additional information from state examiners, and communicate status of state registrations to VP of Operations
  • Attend industry events for ongoing education about legal and regulatory issues that affect the franchise model

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 2+ years' experience managing compliance matters and reviewing/negotiating contracts
  • Precise attention to detail is critical to ensure that all state, federal and franchisee compliance materials are prepared with accuracy and are error free
  • Excellent writing skills and proofreading abilities
  • Strong organizational acumen: ability to manage several projects at once and manage and meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Willingness to work as a team and identify opportunities to support fellow team members
