Julia Vargo

Julia Vargo is the Business and Finance Manager at Blue Rock Search and brings decades of experience in management, travel, hospitality, and more. After graduating from Guilford College with a degree in political science (and accounting and French minors), she launched her career in the corporate travel world, working as a travel consultant in Nashville and joining Shoney’s restaurants and Lifeway Christian Resources to manage their corporate travel in-house. In 2000, Julia moved back to Johnson City, where she joined her family’s now-ninety-year-old travel agency.

For 21 years, Julia managed her family’s travel agency, guiding them through the challenges of the post-9/11 world and the 2008-09 recession. COVID changed the trajectory for both the business and for Julia, and she became the Guest Services Manager at the Holiday Inn in Johnson City, TN.
